While the Games Showcase is still a big name in the gaming community… it has become decreasingly popular lately with less and less updates and less and less activity. 64Digits on the other hand is thriving compared to it’s competitors: Games Showcase and Game Maker Games (currently being relocated to a new host and has effectively been dead for month(s)).
Mark recently removed the link to the Game Maker Games website from the official Game Maker page after GMG started experiencing problems with their host. Instead Mark suggested users visit the Games Showcase. It is surprising that there hasn’t been a mention to the 64Digits community, and perhaps there is something we don’t know about, that Mark is holding against them.
Anyone with information on the subject, please feel free to comment.

Well now, this is just plain speculation, not to mention FUD.
GMS has been established and associated with Mark for a considerable time now: whereas we,64digits, are not at all associated with Mark. Just because he doesn’t mention every GM community under the sun doesn’t mean he dislikes them: it just means that he doesn’t have time to list them.
I, as a 64digits admin, can state quite firmly that there isn’t any bad blood between YoYoGames and 64digits. We’ve had talks with them about more closely tying our sites, which we mutually agreed was a bad idea when neither v3 of 64digits nor YoYoGames itself were finished.

Thanks for bringing some light on the situation. I didn’t realize there was an official affiliation, I just thought it strange the more popular non-official community and game-sharing site wasn’t mentioned.

GMS will be merged with the YoYo Games site. See http://www.gmshowcase.dk and http://www.playsnack.com.

The reason 64D wasn’t added, is likely because we [I'm a 64D staff member] haven’t expressed any wish that we want to be listed.
Mark doesn’t seem like the kind of person who would put our site up there without asking, and even less like someone who would contact us to ask permission.

I also think that 64Digits rather… lax rules and disorderly members might have something to do with it.

I think it’s mainly because they never asked. That’s it, no more, no less.
Plus there are some people who don’t always like the “big” companies and would like other “3rd party” forums to go to. That may be a reason why they didn’t ask to be mentioned.

In reply to Angry Sheepdog:
We’re by no means a company, just a bunch of fun-loving people who happen to use Game Maker. GMS and GMG are also 3rd party– the only 1st party forums there are would be YYG and GMC.

Mark and Sandy did contact us about a partnership, but we decided not to. That’s why we were not mentioned.

Perhaps Mark thinks that GMS need users more than 64d, besides I personally think 64d should stay small.

Yeeaah, we’re not quite… linkable, or want to be linked, IMO.
One of the big draws for me is the lack of nubs, so…
